It's a stale excuse, but I'm drowning in work. I've been working ten hours every day this week and it slowly takes its toll on me, when I come back from my after work workout, I hardly make it into my bed and fall asleep. Furthermore, I have to write an essay and a daily journal for college, I'm all busy with planning my Hawai'i trip in November and I hang out with my local friends a lot. It took me years and Mondays to realize there's a pretty world outside the house and I enjoy it as much as possible. Being outside goes hand in hand with fierce sunlight and hence tan. I made it my mission to turn at least two shades darker this summer, but since tans naturally don't work on my pale complexion, I turn to products that help me cheat: bronzers.Es ist die allseits beliebte, ausgelutschte Ausrede, aber ich ertrinke zurzeit in Arbeit. Und wenn ich nicht arbeite, bereite ich meine Reise nach Hawai'i im November vor, ich gehe mit Freunden aus oder ich beschäftige mich eben mit Sachen, die nicht das Internet involvieren. Es hat lange gedauert, bis ich gecheckt habe, dass es so etwas wie eine "Offline-Welt" gibt und das nutze ich auch voll und ganz aus, wann immer es geht. Da ich die meiste Zeit im Freien verbringe, fällt es mir umso leichter, meine von mir selbst gestellte Aufgabe zu erfüllen: bräunen bis zum Umkippen. Da mir das als Leiche allerdings nicht einfach so zugeflogen kommt, greife ich zu anderen Mitteln und trickse ein wenig, mit Bronzern.
It was another sunny day in California, another one I spent with Sushi. We hit the mall and naturally the M.A.C store, too. Even though I still don't consider it a brand I'd like or love, I walk in from time to time to see what's new and to swatch some pretty lipsticks. However, this time I completely ignored the lipstick stands and swatched all their Mineralize Skinfinish Natural bronzing powders like a lunatic. I trust M.A.C when it comes to mineralized powders and "Give Me Sun!" didn't let me down on that one.
Ein neuer, sonniger Tag in Kalifornien, ein weiterer Tag, den ich mit Sushi verbracht habe. Wir sind für kurze Zeit in die Mall geflüchtet und sind im M.A.C-Store abgestürzt. Die Marke gehört wirklich nicht zu meinen Favoriten, aber was Puder und Lippenstifte angeht, verstehen sie was von ihrem Business. Ich griff spontan zu den Mineralize Skin Finish Bronzern und swatchte sie, wie eine Bekloppte, durch, bis ich mich für "Give Me Sun!" entschieden habe, zu dem ich immer greife, wenn ich mir das Gesicht zukleistere.
Give Me Sun! works best on fair-skinned people like me, since it's supposed to create the illusion of a "light, summery, peachy tan". I don't use it much for contouring, rather as a blush, as I'm so over using pinks and reds at the moment, it looks fake during summertime. I have rosy cheeks in autumn, winter and spring, but in summer it makes me look like a ton of drunk mosquitoes pestered my face. "Give Me Sun!" has a gorgeous texture, great pigmentation despite being rather sheer, but there's so many things to do wrongly when applying bronzer (e.g. staining). Trust me - I experienced all of them. My first M.A.C bronzer comes in handy whenever I apply make-up, I would never think of leaving the house without it on.
"Give Me Sun!" wurde für den hellsten Hauttyp konzipiert, eben für Weißkäse wie mich, und zaubert eine leichte, pfirsichfarbene Sommerfrische auf die Haut. Im Sommer findet man alle meine roten und rosafarbenen Rouges tief in meinen Schminkkoffern vergraben, da ich die Töne absolut unangemessen finde. Im Sommer hat man nur rote Haut, wenn man entweder zu lange ohne Schutz in der Sonne gelegen hat oder von Mückern durchlöchert wurde. Die werde ich Anfang Herbst wieder ausgraben. "Give Me Sun!" hat eine wunderbare Textur, die sich leicht auf die Wangenknochen auftragen lässt (je nachdem, wie man Bronzer benutzen möchte, ich benutze ihn als Rouge-Ersatz), und eine dezente Farbabgabe, die auch wichtig bei Bronzern ist, weil man ansonsten aussieht, als ob man brutal vergessen hätte, die linke Backe mit Sonnencreme vollzuschmieren - Fleckengefahr deluxe.
