A while ago Lisa of He Qi Designs asked me whether I'd be interested to review some self-chosen favourites from her shop, which happen to include jewellery (*gasp*) as well. He Qi Designs offers 100% handmade, fair-priced natural cosmetics and creative crafts.Vor einiger Zeit schrieb mich Lisa von He Qi Designs an und fragte mich, ob ich mich für eine Rezension ihrer Produkte bereit erklären würde. Ich habe mir unter anderem auch Schmuck ausgesucht (die Kosmetik interessierte mich natürlich viel mehr, aber ich wollte auch mal Abwechslung in meine Reviews bringen), desweiteren findet man auf He Qi selbstproduzierte, organische Kosmetik und kreative Schmuckbasteleien.
I haven't worn ear rings in a long time and wasn't sure if my 'holes' still existed. But they do! As already said I'm not typically girly, I avoid to be girly whenever I can, including wearing and pulling off cute accessories such as pierces and fancy bracelets. But Lisa's Spring Bird's Ear Cuff Set got me at the word 'cuff', I've always wanted to get the top of my ear pierced (lack of professional term) and I'm still considering to get it done, but a cuff will do for now. Its size is adjustable and despite looking über cute (hence, killing me girly-attitude-wise), it adds a rockish touch to the overall ear ring. "This ear cuff set is made with rose SWAROVSKI teardrops, cream pearl, bicones, plastic leaves and mother of pearl birds. A cheerful and creative piece. Da ich schon seit Jahren kein Ohrringe mehr getragen habe, war ich mir nicht sicher, ob meine Ohrlöcher überhaupt noch existierten. Aber sie tun es! Wie ich es schon einmal in einem anderen Blogpost erklärt habe, mag ich keine Sachen, die zu 'mädchenhaft' sind und vermeide es, so gut es geht, meine feminine Seite übermäßig zu unterstreichen (Kosmetik reicht voll und ganz). Allerdings hat mich Lisas 'Spring Birds'-Ohrkette (mir fällt partout nicht der richtige Begriff ein) mit der anpassbaren Oberohr-Manschette (kann mir bitte jemand ein Wörterbuch rüberbeamen?) sofort fasziniert, da das gesamte Stück eher cool als wirklich niedlich wirkt.
The Antique Bronze Feather Cuff Bracelet is a piece I'd associate with surf hipsters and you all know how much I love surf fashion, lifestyle and anything surfing-related. The cuff bracelet combines both my favourite jewellery colour and my motif in one piece, it's supposed to fit most wrists, since it's easily adjustable. I have a determined set of rubber bracelets I wear day and night, but this piece made it to the top 5 and adorns my wrist whenever I wear an outfit that matches the colour.
Das Federarmband aus Metall mochte ich erstens wegen des Motivs und zweitens wegen seiner Farbe. Ich kann kein glänzendes Gold oder Silber tragen, ich brauchte da eher etwas angeranztes, Antikgold ist für mich eine Charakterfarbe und steht für mich - an einem Objekt, das aussieht, als ob es oft benutzt wird - für Erinnerungen. An und für sich trage ich tagein, tagaus die selben drei Gummiarmbänder, daran gibt's nichts zu rütteln, aber dieses Armband hat es tatsächlich geschafft, ab und an getragen zu werden, wenn es farblich zu meinem Outfit passt.
I'm still searching for the ultimate lip balm, most oh-so moisturizing chapsticks leave my lips even more chapped, other balms dry them out or have no effect at all. He Qi has some pretty interesting flavours/scents in the range, such as absinthe, matcha latte, vanilla rose or lavender. I went for the Soothing Lavender Lip Balm and am pleasantly surprised by its natural, subtle note. It's my current go-to lip balm, as I've got to test-drive it to death and am fond of it so far. I badly want to try the other scents as well!
Nach wie vor suche ich verzweifelt nach einem Lippenbalsam, der meinen Lippen langanhaltend Feuchtigkeit spendet und Risse verheilen lässt, allerdings hatte ich bisher nur das Glück solche auszuprobieren, die meine Lippen regelrecht ausgetrocknet haben oder gar keinen Effekt hatten. He Qi hat verschiedene Sorten im Angebot, wie zum Beispiel Absinth, Matcha Latte, Vanille-Rose oder Lavendel. Ich habe mich für Lavendel entschieden und war angenehm überrascht von der sehr sanften, natürlichen Duftnote. Ich nehme den Lippenbalsam zurzeit überall hin mit, um ihn genauestens zu testen und bin bisher ziemlich zufrieden mit ihm. Allerdings möchte ich unbedingt auch die anderen Sorten ausprobieren!
Eventually, Lisa sent me her Vegan Matcha Mint Green Tea Sugar Scrub, which came in a 6oz container (the latest available size) and can be used on one's face, hands and/or body. I haven't tried it yet (because I just exfoliated my skin and didn't want to torture it too much), but the scent makes me want to eat the content and I probably could, since it's vegan. Maybe I did..?
Lisa hat mir ebenfalls ihr veganes Matcha-Minze Grüner Tee Zucker-Peeling für Gesicht, Hände und Körper zugeschickt, das ich allerdings noch nicht ausprobiert habe, da ich erst kürzlich ein Scrub angewendet habe und meine Haut nicht überstrapazieren wollte, aber der Geruch lädt regelrecht dazu ein, das Produkt zu kosten, was auch möglich wäre, da es ja vegan ist.
